Todo

Todo

Today’s Spanish word of the day is “todo” in the masculine form, or “toda” in the feminine form.

It means “all”, “everything” or “entire”, and can be used as a pronoun, adjective or adverb.

The hrase “todo el mundo” (literally “all the world”) is often used to mean “everyone”.

The word “todo” comes from Latin totus, meaning “whole” or “entire”, from which we also get the English word “total”.

Pasé todo el día leyendo.

I spent the whole day reading.

He hecho todo lo que podía.

I’ve done everything I could.

Me comí todo… incluso el tenedor.

I ate everything… even the fork.
