Través

Través

Today’s Spanish word of the day is “través”.

It’s mainly used in the phrase “a través”, meaning “through” or “across”.

The word “través” comes from Latin transversus, which meant “turned or directed across”. This is also the root of the English words “traverse” and “transverse”.

Caminamos a través del bosque.

We walked through the forest.

Se comunicaron a través de cartas.
